Springy close-ups
The first sign of Spring in my yard is definitely finding blossoms on our nectarine tree. I had to trick my camera into taking this one, so we could see it REAL close-up..
Next. . . while tinkering around outside, thinking of things to photograph, I saw something in a new way... can you tell what it is??
why... it's the edge of a Hydrangea leaf. I honestly never realized they were spikey!

Vintage Sewing Machine
I searched my house high and low for something, anything with an unpolarized plug, with no results. After reading Andi's post about the sewing machine, I realized I had something just perfect. A vintage sewing machine my husband picked up at a yard sale a few years back.
It's really a neat piece of machinery... I love the style of it, but as you can tell by the extreme layer of dust, it isn't very useful. . in fact, I'm not even sure it works.... it's just sitting there on a shelf in my garage. . .

Spanglish at it's FINEST. .
Here in SoCal, where every street, town and "plaza" is named in Spanish, we also find the best of the best in "Spanglish". . .
Presenting, The CASA DE SENIORS. . .as in "senior citizens", and not to be confused with "seƱor". . or "man" in Spanish.
This one makes me laugh every time...

San Diego Zoo, Home of the Giant Panda.
Here is my addition to "Home of the Giant..."
One of the Giant Pandas, who call the San Diego Zoo their home. This gal is just a baby, I believe she is Su Lin. I took this picture in August 0f 2006, right around her first birthday. . . You can read more about them, and watch the Panda Cam HERE.

stopping at the edge of the world.
allright, so it's not the CLOSEST stop sign to my house, but it was definitely the most picturesque. . . This shot was taken this afternoon, a beautiful clear day (not to mention a comfortable 62 degrees!). In the background - the Oceanside pier.
