Spring is Here.

Spring flowers blooming are a great sight after a cold winter. The nice thing is that our winter was not bad at all. The yellow daffodils are blooming now too. I'm hoping winter is over.

I' m looking foreword to seeing what everyone posts for the close-up topic.

Oldest Plug Here

This is the oldest plug in our house. Looking the house for an old plug was a challenge. I didn't realize it, but we don't have much plugged into the wall that isn't a TV or computer. But I did finally remember this old metronome. It is my husband's; he used it when he learned piano as a child. His mom sent it to us when his parents recently moved. The cool thing about it is the light on top that beats in tempo to what has been selected.

Giants of Raleigh

Well this was my first thought for "Home of The Giant..." This acorn is used every year on New Year's Eve to welcome in the new year. They raise it up and drop just like they do with the ball in Times Square! If fact the local media here does a split screen as the ball drops in Times Square with this giant acorn. It resides in a park downtown.

Funny thing was on the way to get the picture for this, we saw another giant sitting on the side of the road!
It is apparently a booth of some sort. My husband figured it some sort of weird hot dog stand. I figure some radio station uses it for promotions at different locations. But there is actually an inside that has room for several people to stand.

The Chase

I have been blogging for a year now and I don't think in that whole time I have posted a picture of myself. So the Camera Shy theme was perfect for me.

The setup was my drive way today. It is very cold and was just beginning to rain. But Sherman, my dog, is always ready to play along. He was the inspiration for the title of the post. He thought the whole thing was a great game!

Stopping in North Carolina

I guess some people you just have to tell twice! This sign may not be the closest to my house - but it was the first one I saw yesterday on our trip to the dog park.
