close up of Lake Boniface

This is a true sign of spring in Alaska. I think this is the third time these guys have been to our office parking lot draining different parts of the lot. They weren't very happy either...

The snow is slowly melting though...soon we will be up in the 50's. :)

OOOHHHH!!! This was my *favorite* season in Alaska--BREAKUP!! (Seriously, spring? What's that?) We'd slap on our rubber boots, hook up the garden hose to the sump pump and drain our the lakes in our front yard to the sewer (totally illegal). We called it "schlogging."
Thanks for bringing that lovely memory up with your picture of Lake Boniface!

How did I know Bezzie was going to be the first to comment? Let me be the next: I miss it! It's hard explaining to Southerners that having snow actually makes the warm weather rewarding. Alaskans deserve summer after the winter.

Slogging through snow-melt wouldn't make me very happy either. However SPRING does make me happy!

Break up is in full swing! I've already broken down once and went through the car wash. That was less than a week and my car looks like it never saw a bath. I can't wait until the snow finally melts and the trees start blooming! Soon!!!!
